El Apóstol

San Matías es un apóstol del cual se habla una sola vez en en el Nuevo Testamento y es solo refiriendo su elección para tomar el lugar del doceavo apóstol que había dejado vacante Judas tras su traición. No sabemos mucho más de él, solo que fue testigo de Jesús desde su bautismo hasta su ascensión, que lo acompaño desde el principio, y que llevo a Dios a todos lo que pudo antes de morir con la corona del martirio.

Para nosotros es símbolo de que cualquiera que camine junto a Jesús y lleve sus palabras a todos los que encuentra puede ser Santo, puede ser apóstol, puede tener un lugar privilegiado en el Reino de Dios. No porqué haya hecho grandes cosas, destacándose, sino porque es testigo de Dios y lleva ese testimonio a todos los lugares que pisa.
